Hunterdon County 4H & Agricultural Fair

August 22-25, 2024
Ringoes, NJ

The Hunterdon County Rug Artisans Guild exhibited rugs at the 2024 Hunterdon
County 4-H & Agricultural Fair. Many fairgoers make our exhibit their first stop at the
fair year after year, and we do not disappoint!

Our exhibit was expertly curated by Annie Edwards, Mary and Jim Passerello,
Linda Hannemann and Lucy Walsh to create a visually stimulating display.

The exhibit allowed Guild members and the public to showcase their work and to
have it judged by nationally known rug hooking instructors in five categories:
Commercial Design, Original Design, First Rug, Punch Needle, and 3-Dimensional.
First, second and third place ribbons were awarded in each category.

The judging criteria was based on Appearance and Technique, Quality of
Hooking, Borders and Finishing, Color Plan, Materials, Originality and Design. Judges
this year were Lisa Chaloner (Victorian Hand Works, Ocean Park, Maine), Donna
Hrkman (Donna Hrkman Designs, Dayton, Ohio), Diane Phillips (Diane Phillips Fiber
Arts, Fairport, New York), and Jyl Robbins (Jyl Robbins-Rug Hooking Instructor, Hooked
Rug Restoration, Floyd Knobs, Indiana).
