Board Members (Officers)
Co-Presidents: Chair regular meetings, call Board meetings, liaise with Hunterdon County Administration, encourage increased membership.
Vice President: Maintains and publishes an updated membership directory for semi-annual distribution to Guild members, supports Presidents, collects dues, and oversees the fulfillment of non-elected positions.
Camp Directors: The directors are responsible for all aspects of operating the summer camp. See the by-laws for details.
Facilities: Responsible for arranging regular location and schedule for meetings.
Program Coordinator: Plans programs for each meeting.
Secretary: Takes notes during meetings and emails them to Email Coordinator for distribution. Maintains meeting attendance records.
Treasurer(s): Maintains all financial functions of the Guild. See by-laws for details.
Demonstrations & Beginner Class: Coordinates all hooking demonstrations and organizes beginner classes.
Communications Coordinator: Represents all communication committee chairpersons at Board meetings.
Committee Chairs/Coordinators
Email: Distributes email blasts and other email items to the general membership.
Historian: Maintains documents pertaining to the Guild.
Hospitality: Coordinates a team of members to provide refreshments at each meeting.
Librarian: Maintains and catalogs the Guild's book collection and makes them available to the membership upon request.
Mentoring: Ensures that each new member is paired with a member to provide the new member with information and guidance regarding rug hooking.
Newsletter Editor: Compiles and edits all submissions to the Loop. Sends completed newsletter to Co-Presidents and email coordinator for distribution.
Publicity: Responsible for all communications with various publications to inform and promote the Guild's activities to the general public as appropriate.
Show and tell: Maintains Show and Tell portion of the Guild's regular meetings, including end of year drawing.
Special Events Chair(s): plan and execute special events such as the March Retreat and June Hook-In.
Sunshine: Collects health and welfare information about members in order to convey the Guild's best wishes.
Website: Responsible for all communication with the Guild's webmaster. Ensures that the website is current. Collects submissions for inclusion in the website.
Note from the Presidents: As you can see, there are many people involved in keeping our Guild vibrant and current.
Several functions have evolved over the years and have been broken into smaller pieces in order to make each person's contribution easier. But it is clear that we are very fortunate to have a membership that is involved and generous in donating their time to keep us active.
Every year, around September, the VP publishes an updated membership directory.
It is an invaluable resource that not only gives you the means of contacting other members, but also highlights the various positions members hold. I highly recommend that you print this out so you can have it on hand.
